Northeast Chills Then...

Last update: November 5, 2009 - 2:25 PM

A surge of cold air will dominate the weather across the Northeast through Friday. The chill is arriving on the heels of a big storm forming south of Atlantic Canada.

This time, the cold won't last very long. Early Saturday will be about the extent of it, then it will warm up pretty quickly. Saturday afternoon, the temperature will get to 50 degrees as far along as Boston. At the same time west of the Appalachians through the Ohio Valley, it will be in the pleasant 60s.

The mild weather is expected to persist across the Northeast through the first part of next week, and no dynamite cold blasts are in sight just yet.
