What about the Storm in Western Gulf

This storm probably won't be named, but there is every reason to believe that it will have significant impact on the weather in the western Gulf region Sunday and Monday.

A large pressure gradient on the top side of the storm could easily get the winds going past 40 mph. In turn, seas would become quite rough with wave heights of 15 feet or more. This could be somewhat disruptive for all the oil production that occurs in this part of the Gulf of Mexico.

This storm is also expected to bring more heavy rain to the South late Sunday and Monday which is not a good thing. As you probably know, there has been a lot of serious flooding in Louisiana during recent days, and more rain will do nothing but aggravate the current situation.

Who Has the Rain? - Seattle, Wash., has had over 5 inches of rain this month. Astoria, Ore., right on the coast, has received over 10 inches thus far. This in marked contrast to what has fallen farther south. San Francisco has had a mere 0.01 of an inch which is very unusual for that location.
