A disorganized storm crossing the Great Lakes will find new life off the East Coast later Thursday and Thursday night, then it will blossom into quite a formidable system. The worst of the storm will target Maritime Canada late Thursday night and Friday. The region from Nova Scotia and southern New Brunswick to Newfoundland can expect heavy rain, snow and winds over 40 mph.
The outer edge of the storm will cause rain and snow showers in New England Thursday into Friday morning, but nothing worse than that.
The backlash of the storm will bring cold air into the Northeast for Thursday and Friday. That will be the extent of it, however. Over the weekend, it will warm up pretty quickly.
