Now That's What You Call RAIN!

It was raining cats (not black I hope) and dogs Friday from Louisiana to the lower Great Lakes with rainfall exceeding 5 inches in places like Little Rock, Ark. The torrents of rain have caused widespread flooding in low-lying areas, especially along streams and smaller rivers.

The storm will shift somewhat farther east Friday night with the axis of the heaviest rain extending from eastern Louisiana to Indiana. Rainfall through this zone will be heavy, averaging 1 to 2 inches with a smaller band getting upwards of 4 inches.

More flooding is likely to occur.

Who Has the Rain? - Seattle, Wash., has had over 5 inches of rain this month. Astoria, Ore., right on the coast, has received over 10 inches thus far. This in marked contrast to what has fallen farther south. San Francisco has had a mere 0.01 of an inch which is very unusual for that location.
