While the oil industry has been mostly welcomed in North Dakota during the state’s latest oil boom, a handful of residents in communities on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation are increasingly voicing concerns, especially with respect to the environmental impact on their lands and throughout the region. The reservation is home to the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes.
