Oct. 5: Watching the animals

While protesters outside the Target Center Friday supported a ban of wild animal circuses, inside the Minneapolis Shrine Circus went on. Circus officials say they're pleased with the Minneapolis City Council's choice to defeat the ban, instead opting to increase regulations and raise permit fees and fines for circus operators. The Shriners expect upwards of 70,000 people to see seven performances this weekend.
