Maiden voyage

Critics weren't offered advance screeners of "Star Trek: Discovery," a sign that the network thinks that the buzz is strong enough without reviews — or that the spinoff is a dud. After blasting off on network TV, the drama moves exclusively to cbs.com, which will require viewers to pony up a few bucks each month, although a free trial is currently available.
