It's been 24 years, and the art cars keep coming to this annual parade. Art car owners are folks who are willing to cover their car or bike with wild, artsy designs should do so and then join the parade. All dashing, colorful shapes and cartoons and whatever you want are welcome. Step on the gas or just the bike pedal and go. Afterwards, just hang out at the lake or get some ice cream. It's summer!

Sky, Land, Water
Groveland Gallery (25 Groveland Terrace, Minneapolis)

Gallery hours: Tues. – Sat. 12-5 p.m.
The gallery explores three elements that are central to both landscape painting and Minnesota. The exhibition's 17 artists are also grouped by these elements. Gary Bowling, Andy Evansen, Tom Maakestad, Carl Oltvedt and Andrew Wykes represent sky. The land section goes to Richard Abraham, Fred Anderson, Scott Lloyd Anderson, Carl Bertzke, Joshua Cunningham, Stuart Loughridge and Larry Weld. Painters Anne Decoster, Jean Gumpper, Michael Kaeken, Clara Ueland and Bob Upton go to the water. Where's the fire element though? That is what I'm wondering. Exhibition ends Sept. 1.

Just when you thought South Minneapolis couldn't get any artsier, this new fashion show is swooping in. Models will walk the runway in the gallery's backyard, donning new wearable designs by LA artist/musician Rachel Blomgren. Ryan Fontain's hair paintings are on view – they are part of a screenprint collaboration with Minneapolis artist Drew Peterson. Rebecca Spangenthal's designs under the name Island Queen Satan's Flower will be on display in the H&N sculpture garden. Dancer Laurie Van Wieren, a 2018 McKnight Choreography Fellow, performs an improvised solo. Amal Roberts takes his solo dance to the H+N basement gallery. HIJACK performs on their 25th anniversary. And Ryan Fontain's paintings from the show "The Confounding Variable" are on the walls.

Berlin-based Australian artist Gerry Bibby works in performance, sculpture, print and writing. Showing internationally, Bibby's conceptual work varies but he is interest in "literary spaces that surround frontier imaginations," according to one source. This show presents his new work. Exhibition ends Aug. 25.

Friends and artists Carl Gawboy, George Morrison and Joe Geschick reflect on art and celebrate Anishinaabe life in this group exhibition. The title of this exhibition roughly translates into "four friends," leaving space for the fourth person, which is you, the viewer. The exhibition is curated by Jason Pearson. Closing reception on July 24 from 6-8 p.m. includes a pipe ceremony, feast, speakers and presentation of gifts.
