An early morning fire left five residents of a Brooklyn Park apartment building without a place to live.
Flames were seen coming from a building and a dumpster at the Windsor Gates Apartments on the 6200 block of 78th Avenue N. about 12:20 a.m. Monday. The fire on the first floor spread quickly, said Dan Smith, Battalion Chief of Operations for the Brooklyn Park Fire Department.
The fire grew to four alarms and took hours to put out, he said.
One resident and one firefighter were hurt.
Crews remained on the scene to check for hot spots in concealed roof spaces, Smith said.
