Justin Faulk had his first career hat trick, Jeff Skinner scored twice, and the Carolina Hurricanes routed the Los Angeles Kings 7-3 on Tuesday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Faulk's three goals came in a span of 12 minutes, 21 seconds. starting late in the first period. The South St. Paul native became the 10th defenseman in NHL history to score a natural hat trick.
The Hurricanes won their third consecutive game as Cam Ward made 27 saves.

Pittsburgh 6, Ottawa 3: Jake Guentzel scored twice, and Zach Aston-Reese scored his first two NHL goals as the host Penguins beat the Senators.
Winnipeg 4, Washington 3 (OT): Defenseman Tyler Myers scored 3:35 into overtime as the host Jets rallied from a two-goal deficit to win.
