Today's trophy tales
Dale Smith, Barnum • 59-inch sturgeon • Big Hanging Horn Lake
Smith fought the fish, above, for more than two hours on June 26 while his son Howard followed it with the boat before finally getting it in the boat. The fish, which weighed 50 pounds, was caught using a 5-foot, 6-inch Jigging Rod and 10-pound test line.
A TWO-FER
Connor Radtke, 10, of Lester Prairie, caught this 38-inch northern pike on Lake Minnetonka minutes after his grandfather Joe Radtke caught a 36-inch northern. Both fish were released.
SOLO CATCH
Dylan Erickson, 13, of Deephaven, caught this 46 ½-inch muskie on June 23 while fishing alone from his kayak on Carsons Bay of Lake Minnetonka.
