Betty McCollum

Betty McCollum

A fomer state legislator from North St. Paul, McCollum prevailed in a Democratic scramble in 2000 to succeed the late Bruce Vento in a district that has uniformly sent Democrats to Washington for more than half a century. In office she has delivered solidly party-line votes and a strong voice for labor interests that are important in her district. Her focuses are health care, education, and human rights. The district is safe for the DFL.
