Vasquez, Hilarion age 70, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2014. Beloved husband of 37 years to Susan (Hagen), who survives him along with son Alexander; daughter Jennifer Vasquez Andrews; grandson Austin; brothers Rafael; Juan Carlos (Rosalba); and Jose Manuel (Ana Lucia); and sister Marina (Jaime) Velandia. In 1993, Hilarion, who was a civil engineer and retired army artillery officer in his native Colombia, moved to Minnesota, adopting his wife's birthplace as his family's new home. Hilarion was a loving husband, father, and grand- father whose memory will be cherished always. Known for his quiet humor, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand, Hilarion will be missed by all who knew him, particularly co-workers and patrons of the Augsburg Park Library in Richfield where he worked for most of his nearly two decades of employment with Hennepin County Public Libraries. Malecha, Marian E. age 90, of Apple Valley, formerly of Lonsdale, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2014. Following their marriage in 1944 Marian and Emil farmed in the Lonsdale area for 32 years. After moving to Apple Valley in 1979, Marian worked with ISD 196 in food service. She enjoyed her extensive travels, baking and nature, but most of all her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil L. Sciamanda, Mary A. Age 82, of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully on 1/6/14. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, John; her children, Rob (Christine), Mary Beth (Tim) Mitchell, Christopher, John Mark (Susan), Paul, and Susan (Tracy) Juels; her grandchildren, Rachel (Josh), Brittany, Tony, Suzie, Adam, Marnie, Maddie, Titan, Roman, Marco and Jonathan; her great- grandchildren, Tyler and Cadence; and many more family and friends. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Mary put herself through nursing school and worked in the polio and respirator wards at Cleveland Hospital. She met her husband John at a fraternity party, they married 4 years later and moved to Pennsylvania to raise their family. Over the years, they lived in Massachusetts, Minneapolis, Edina, Arizona and Apple Valley. During the last 40 years, their true home has been their cherished lake home on Whitefish Lake. Their retirement was busy with family and friends visiting them at the lake. Visits always included great food, boat rides, chocolate chip cookies, playing Hearts and s'mores at the bonfire. Mary also loved knitting, reading, cooking and was proud of her orchids. Mary was fiercely devoted to her family and wrapped us all in her love and attention. Anglin, James Michael "Mike" Age 75, of Apple Valley passed peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2013 surrounded by family at home. Preceded in death by his parents James F. Anglin and Dorothea Davenport Anglin of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He is survived in life by his loving wife Geraldine Sedo; children Elisabeth (Kevin), Robert (Nicole), and Katherine; grandchildren Caroline, Paige, Jacob, and James; and siblings Dennis (Florey) and Mary (Dennis). After graduating high school 2 years early in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Mike earned his BS in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, his Masters in Electrical Engineering at University of Minnesota (where he met his wife, Geri) and his Law Degree at Indiana University. He spent 3 years of active service as Lieutenant (JG) in the US Navy between his Bachelors and Masters degrees. Mike spent his professional career as a recognized expert in Intellectual Property Law, specializing in science and technology patent law. After finishing school in Indianapolis, Mike moved his family to Rochester, Minnesota where he spent 30 years working with IBM as a Patent Attorney and then self-employed as a Litigation Consultant. He later moved to Apple Valley to continue his post-retirement career with the private IP law firm of Schwegman, Lundberg and Woessner in Minneapolis. Since retiring (again) he continued to provide consulting and educational support in the area of IP Law. He had a passion for learning, service to others, music and humor. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather - always available for support, teaching or a "good" joke. Mike was very active with his family, church and musical (vocal, instrumental) pursuits. He loved to travel and enjoyed experiencing the language and culture of a wide variety of domestic and international destinations. Services will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, MN on January 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM and will be followed by a luncheon. Visitation will be offered on January 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Kyllo, Don (aka Kyllo) Born in Goodhue Co. on Feb. 4, '39. Whittington, Willis Alfred 68, of Apple Valley, passed away Monday at his home. He was born December 22, 1944 in Stirling, Scotland to Willis Haydn and Annie (nee Summers) Whittington. Willis is survived by Collette (nee Rendall), his wife of 47 years, and several cousins. He was an informative, talented, and articulate public speaker who traveled the world over with Collette at his side making numerous lifelong friends. Willis possessed a sharp wit and a natural gift for poetry, was a Tennis Champion in his beloved homeland Scotland, an accomplished chef, and most of all, Willis was a truly loving and devoted husband. Lundquist, Duane S. "Dewey" age 83, of Apple Valley, formerly of Richfield and Burnsville died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Ruth Lundquist. Pringle, Michael George of Apple Valley, passed away suddenly on November 22nd at the age of 66. He was born on May 19th, 1947, in St. Paul, MN. Mike was loved deeply by his wife, Jeanne and his daughters, Kathryn & Stephanie. He served as an electrician in the US Navy for 16 years. He then worked as an electrician for the United States Post Office for 21 years before retiring and working as a custodian at Greenleaf Elementary, the school his daughters and grandson attended. Mike worked hard and took pride in everything he did and his dedication was an example to those around him. More than anything, Mike wanted to help others and he spent his life doing so. He will be missed greatly by all who met and loved him. Takumi, Vernice Fay (Anspach) age 66, lost her battle with ovarian cancer 11/20/13 in Apple Valley, MN. Born to Clifford and Anna Anspach in Montevideo, MN. She was a Manager for Burnsville Current/ Countryside, and an accountant with the City of Shakopee, City of St. Louis Park and FDIC/RTC. During her retirement in Maui, Hawaii she was an AARP Tax Wise program volunteer for over six years. She was a loving, caring, patient and kind wife, mother and person. She will always be missed by Lani (daughter), Tori (son) and Gerald (husband). She will be cremated and her ashes will be spread on Maui at a later date. Wright, Diane Avis passed into heaven peacefully at home, Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born October 7, 1952, she is survived by her husband Ron, daughters Elizabeth Esther Wright (John Wilder) and Mary Katherine Wright, grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Hutchison, Alexis Mae Goembel, and Henry Ronald Wright. She is also survived by her brothers Merton Keith (Heidi) Unnasch, Richard (Winnie) Unnasch, Jerome (Sharon) Unnasch, and sister Faye Foster, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Avis Unnasch. Diane graduated with her husband Ron from Houston (MN) High School in 1970, and Winona Technical Institute in 1971. She began her professional career as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester MN. Diane and Ron enjoyed forty-one years of marriage and have lived most of their married life in the Twin Cities. Stralow, Joel Patrick 54, of Apple Valley, MN, died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, of natural causes. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, IA. The funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton, IA, with visitation from noon until the time of Mass. Joel was a long-time resident of the Twin Cities area, where he was employed in the Produce Sales/ Northern Division for Supervalu Inc. Survivors include his daughter, Megan (Matt) Vorwald of Dyersville, IA; his father, Merle Stralow; his sister, Cynthia S. (Ron) Berghoefer; and his nephews, Corey (Kailene) Berghoefer, and their two sons Carter and Callen, and Bryan (Gloria) Berghoefer; and his former wife, Lori (Don) Hermsen-Apel.
