Whittington, Willis Alfred 68, of Apple Valley, passed away Monday at his home. He was born December 22, 1944 in Stirling, Scotland to Willis Haydn and Annie (nee Summers) Whittington. Willis is survived by Collette (nee Rendall), his wife of 47 years, and several cousins. He was an informative, talented, and articulate public speaker who traveled the world over with Collette at his side making numerous lifelong friends. Willis possessed a sharp wit and a natural gift for poetry, was a Tennis Champion in his beloved homeland Scotland, an accomplished chef, and most of all, Willis was a truly loving and devoted husband. Lundquist, Duane S. "Dewey" age 83, of Apple Valley, formerly of Richfield and Burnsville died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Ruth Lundquist. Survived by wife, Dori; son, Mark Lundquist ( Susan ); daughter, Kristin Schwietz (Larry); granddaughter, Madeline Lundquist; step- granddaughters, Amber Beadell (Josh), and Lauren Schwietz; step- great-granddaughters, Brooklynn and Breylynn Beadell. Duane retired from General Mills where he worked as a photographer and manager of the photography department for 27 years. He was a member of the PPofA. Pringle, Michael George of Apple Valley, passed away suddenly on November 22nd at the age of 66. He was born on May 19th, 1947, in St. Paul, MN. Mike was loved deeply by his wife, Jeanne and his daughters, Kathryn & Stephanie. He served as an electrician in the US Navy for 16 years. He then worked as an electrician for the United States Post Office for 21 years before retiring and working as a custodian at Greenleaf Elementary, the school his daughters and grandson attended. Mike worked hard and took pride in everything he did and his dedication was an example to those around him. More than anything, Mike wanted to help others and he spent his life doing so. He will be missed greatly by all who met and loved him. Takumi, Vernice Fay (Anspach) age 66, lost her battle with ovarian cancer 11/20/13 in Apple Valley, MN. Born to Clifford and Anna Anspach in Montevideo, MN. She was a Manager for Burnsville Current/ Countryside, and an accountant with the City of Shakopee, City of St. Louis Park and FDIC/RTC. During her retirement in Maui, Hawaii she was an AARP Tax Wise program volunteer for over six years. She was a loving, caring, patient and kind wife, mother and person. Wright, Diane Avis passed into heaven peacefully at home, Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Born October 7, 1952, she is survived by her husband Ron, daughters Elizabeth Esther Wright (John Wilder) and Mary Katherine Wright, grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Hutchison, Alexis Mae Goembel, and Henry Ronald Wright. She is also survived by her brothers Merton Keith (Heidi) Unnasch, Richard (Winnie) Unnasch, Jerome (Sharon) Unnasch, and sister Faye Foster, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Merton and Avis Unnasch. Diane graduated with her husband Ron from Houston (MN) High School in 1970, and Winona Technical Institute in 1971. She began her professional career as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester MN. Diane and Ron enjoyed forty-one years of marriage and have lived most of their married life in the Twin Cities. Vander Aarde, John Robert "Bob" Age 88, of Apple Valley, MN and Naples, FL. Passed away peacefully on November 19, 2013 after having been surrounded by family members. Bob was born in Canova, South Dakota on June 18th, 1925. He proudly served his Country in the South Pacific in World War II and then reenlisted in the Korean War and served as a Medic. Bob was a successful entrepreneur having founded, owned and operated a chain of Robert Drug Stores and Ardelle's Hallmark Gift Stores located throughout the Twin Cities Area. He joined the Army in 1949 serving as a member of the US First Calvary Division and was awarded the Bronze Star in Korea for meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy. Corey, Stanley W. age 76, of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully on October 20, with his loving family at his side, after a fight with pancreatic cancer. Stan was born in Minneapolis on October 11, 1937. He grew up in southwest Minneapolis, where he attended St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary, St. Thomas Military Academy and graduated from Southwest High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp for three years and then graduated from Mankato State University, getting his BS and MS degrees in Elementary and Special Education, followed by a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from the U of M. He taught and administered educational programs in Richfield and Upsala, MN. After working as an elementary teacher, special education teacher, and elementary and secondary principal, he retired in 1999. Stan and Laurie married in Minneapolis on July 23, 1966. They enjoyed playing with their grandsons, biking, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, fishing, and traveling by car to most places in the USA and Canada, including driving to Alaska twice. They also hiked 4 islands of Hawaii for 6 weeks. Stan enjoyed hunting with friends, as well. He is survived by his wife Laurie; sons, Shawn A. Corey (Heidi Chial) and Robert A. Corey (Jannica); grandchildren, Alec Corey, 6; Logan Corey, 4; and Bryce Corey, 2; brother, Chet Corey (Kathy); his father-in-law Robert H. Bigelow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Myrtle (Gruber) Corey, his mother- in-law Lillian (Tradup) Bigelow, and his grandparents.
