This left lane mishap is the latest in a series that has strangled traffic on westbound I-94 in Hudson for nearly an hour. Traffic comes to a standstill back at Carmichael Road. Ahead commuters will make up for lost time with a fast drive from the border to downtown St. Paul.

It's another 20 minutes from St. Paul to downtown Minneapolis.  Here is the view from Cedar Avenue at 8:30 a.m.

Other hot spots include northbound I-35W where traffic bunches up around 42nd Street and remains tight into downtown.

Look for dipping speeds on both directions of I-694 between Hwy. 252 and Central Avenue in Brooklyn Center and Fridley, and on I-494 in Bloomington from I-35W to Hwy. 100.

Traffic volumes are heavier than usual on northbound Hwy. 169 in Shakopee. That's likely due to more drivers crossing the Minnesota River on Hwy. 169 with the Hwy. 41 crossing in Chaska closed due to flooding. A fender bender near Canterbury Road is adding to the slowness.
