Anders Lee scored twice in the Islanders' three-goal first period, helping host New York to its ninth victory in 11 games with a 4-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night.

Michael Dal Colle notched his first NHL goal and Jordan Eberle also scored, Nick Leddy had two assists and Robin Lehner made 16 saves to improve to 10-1-0 in his past 11 appearances.

Lee (Edina) opened the scoring and added an empty-netter to give him a team-high 18 goals this season. The Islanders improved to 11-6-1 vs. Metropolitan Division opponents this season.

Dal Colle's goal came at 9:19 of the first. The No. 5 pick in the 2014 draft had struggled to produce in his 10-game NHL stint this season, recording only one assist before Thursday.

"It's awesome," Lee said of Dal Colle's goal. "You could see the smile on his face right away."

Winnipeg 5, Nashville 1: Connor Hellebuyck made 37 saves, Brendan Lemieux scored twice and the Jets beat the host Predators to stay alone atop the Central Division in a midseason showdown between rivals. The Jets are four points ahead of the Predators with two games in hand.

Toronto 4, Tampa Bay 2: Mitch Marner scored a go-ahead goal late in the second period, Nazem Kadri and Patrick Marleau each had a goal and an assist, and the Maple Leafs beat the host Lightning. Toronto had lost five of seven but beat the NHL's top team on its home ice.

N.Y. Rangers 4, Chicago 3: Chris Kreider had a goal and an assist and Henrik Lundqvist moved into a tie for sixth place on the NHL's career victories list for the host Rangers. Lundqvist stopped 24 shots to tie Terry Sawchuk with 445 wins.

Boston 5, St. Louis 2: Tuukka Rask tied a franchise record with his 252nd career victory and the host Bruins beat the Blues.
