This weekend is the 1889 Eagle Creek Harvest Festival at the Landing in Shakopee, and Sarah Reinke (playing the part of a German immigrant) explained what life was like on a frontier farm. Listening are Lorna Byrnes, 4, of Plymouth and her siblings Oona, 2, Helena, 6, and mom Zoe Byrnes. The festival continues Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tour at 4 p.m. There will be costumed interpreters and demonstrations of sewing, cooking and blacksmithing, along with 19th-century toys and games and a horse-drawn trolley. The park is free, but there's an admission fee for the tour and demonstrations.
