Liberty prints are having a fashion moment. The feminine garden-party florals were first popularized by London's Liberty & Co. department store in the 19th century. With more than 43,000 print designs, they always seem to pop up in designer collections from Nike to Louis Vuitton.

Anna Sui

In Sui's fall 2010 runway collection, a few designs incorporating Liberty Prints fit right into a celebration of the American Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century.

Liberty Print for Target

The new collection launches Sunday and includes a huge variety of clothes and accessories for women and girls and home accessories. Prices range from $4 to $200 (for a very bright bicycle).

Live Savvy

Local designer Shayla Boger was also inspired by the kicky florals for her line of headbands ($28). They're available at JUUT and Sara Mattson Skin Therapy and online (www.livesavvy.com).

Sales and events

Attention prom shoppers: The store at the center of the prom-iverse is giving you another reason to check out the Mall of America. From March 10 through 21, owner MaryAnne London is opening a pop-up sale store -- Glitz! On Sale. There will be more than 500 prom, formal and bridal dresses, along with purses, jewelry and shoes at 20 to 80 percent off. It will be in the store's former location on the first floor, next to Bloomingdales. (Check out the original Glitz! next to Nordstrom on the third floor.)

You don't have to leave your computer to win with Macy's Fashion Director Outfit Challenge. Through April 6, you can log onto www.macys.com/fashiondirector and pick out an outfit for a specific occasion (such as a blind date or meeting the in-laws). Once you submit, the public can vote on a winner. One person will score a $500 gift card every day. It's also a great way to put your styling skills to the test and see what everyone else comes up with.

On Thursday (4 to 8 p.m.), get your friends together for an evening of shopping during Ladies Night Out at 50th & France (Edina, www.50thandFrance.com). Enjoy discounts such as 20 percent off at Bluebird Boutique and 15 percent off at Hot Mama, and register to win prizes such as a necklace at Monique Lhuillier and a gift certificate at Fashion Avenue.
