Nice jolt: Tesla shares rose 5 percent to $292.28 Monday after the company said over the weekend that its deliveries jumped 69 percent in the first quarter to a record 25,000. The electric car company's stock finished the week at $302.54

Novocure surges: Medical device company Novocure jumped 48 percent to $12 Monday after a study of its Optune device, which uses electric fields to fight cancer, appeared to improve survival for patients with aggressive brain tumors. Shares closed the week at $11.35.

Deal talk: Staples shares rose 10 percent to $9.56 Tuesday after reports that the office supply chain is in talks about a potential sale to a private equity firm. Shares have been hammered since an earlier merger with Office Max failed. Staples shares closed Friday at $9.75.

Steel resolve: Shares of AK Steel Holding Corp. rose 8 percent to $7.65 Friday after falling earlier in the week on doubts that tariffs would have much impact on imported steel.
