Phoenix International Raceway, 1:30 p.m., Ch. 11
What: Race 35 of 36 (ninth of the Chase)
Track: Oval, 1 mile
Race distance: 312 miles, 312 laps
At stake: There are seven drivers vying for three spots in next week's title-deciding finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Only Jeff Gordon has clinched a berth in the final four.
Last year: Kevin Harvick won to earn an automatic spot in the four-man championship finale. He took the title the following week at Homestead.
Last week: Jimmie Johnson raced to his fourth consecutive Texas fall victory, taking the lead from Chase contender Brad Keselowski with three laps left.
Fast facts: Johnson is on the pole for the final elimination race. … Most of the title contenders believe they are chasing Harvick on Sunday. Harvick won the March race for his fourth straight Phoenix victory and track-record seventh. … Team Penske teammates Keselowski and Joey Logano both likely need to win to make it to the finale, and only one of them can go to victory lane. There are mathematical possibilities that both drivers can make the final four, but it's a long shot. Logano will start 14th and Keselowski 18th. … Chevrolet will win its 13th consecutive manufacturers' championship if the top-finishing Chevy at Phoenix is 10th or better. It would be the 39th manufacturers' title in Chevrolet history and will likely happen without a hitch: The worst a Chevy driver has finished as the highest finishing driver at a race was at Kentucky, when Gordon was seventh.
Next race: Ford EcoBoost 400, Nov. 22, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Homestead, Fla.
