Chatted with Kevin Love for a few minutes here after Sunday night's All Star Game, just as he was getting back to his hotel and getting mobbed by fans seeking his autograph.

"The whole weekend, it was just a great experience," he said.

Yes, it was.

He got to chat with Charles Barkley, one of his most vocal supporters for an All-Star spot.

"He gave me a lot of props," Love said. "He was very happy for me."

Love also met former Atlanta forward Kevin Willis and the two talked about 20-20 games.

He hoped to run into Moses Malone for more 20-20 talk at some post-game festivities before Love hops an early flight Monday to get back to Minnesota a late afternoon practice and a flight to Milwaukee for Tuesday's game.

"Hopefully," he said, referring to the snowstorm that's hitting Minnesota Sunday night.

Love played a little less than 12 minutes, had two points, four rebounds, an assist and snapped off a number of outlet passes, including a 75-foot, two-handed overhead inbounds pass to Chris Paul for a layup in the first half's final second that gave the West a 12-point halftime lead on its way to a 148-143 victory over the East.

He lamented a bit the guard- and wing-oriented play you find in such All-Star Games because it provides fewer opportunities for big men, but that was a minor quibble.

"The whole weekend, it was just a great experience," he said. "It's all about confidence. It makes me more thirsty to get back there again. Everybody was great. Kobe was great. We were jawing back and forth all the time. He was jawing about for 40 (points) and he ended up with 14 rebounds. Every time he grabbed one, he looked over at me and laughed. It was a great time just being out there with guys like that."

Asked if his Sunday stats mean that 42-game double-double streak is over, Love said, "Hopefully not. We'll see on Tuesday and keep it going from there."
