Go figure this:

There's only two teams that Chris Paul and the Hornets have played more than once this season and haven't beaten yet.

They are...

The Lakers (0-3)

And...the Timberwolves?

That's right.

The Wolves now are 2-0 against CP3, etc. after Monday's 104-92 victory over the Hornets in which the Wolves started two men down and then lost Darko early in the game and Beasley late.

Beasley turned that left ankle again -- for about the umpteenth time in the last six weeks or so -- and didn't play the final six minutes.

After the game, he sat at his locker and watched that ankle swell.

He said it's time to give it a rest.

"A couple games," he said.

Could be longer than that, since he sat out a couple games last month and still kept turning that ankle.

The Wolves hung on without Beasley.

Kevin Love's 37th consecutive double double -- which puts him alongside Kevin Garnett and John Stockton as the only guys in do that in the last 25 years and not all that far from Moses Malone's 44-game streak nearly 30 years ago -- sure helped.

Check these numbers: 27 points and 17 rebounds and he took just 12 shots (6 of 12) to get there. (He was 14-for-14 from the foul line).

So, too, did 47 points from the bench: 12 each from Nikola Pekovic (4 for 4 shooting) and Anthony Tolliver, who made four threes, all of them in a decisive 37-23 second quarter.

Wayne Ellington had 11 in his first game back after missing two to attend his uncle's funeral and Sebastian Telfair had nine.

One other thing: Jonny Flynn is showing more explosiveness and confidence by the game now that he's starting and playing big minutes with Luke Ridnour absent.

He played nearly 35 minutes Monday -- a season high -- and made 5 of 10 shots, scored 13 points and had six assists and two steals.

He also had six turnovers, and again was wild down the stretch.

You should have seen the look on Telfair's face when Flynn made a bad pass with a 10-point lead and two minutes left and it looked like Kurt Rambis was about to send him into the game before calling him back and letting Flynn finish out the game.

Well, that's all I got from New Orleans.

Here's the game story from Monday night.

Wolves flew to Houston after the game and play the Rockets there Tuesday night.
