The Wolves have added four players to a roster that heads to Mankato Friday afternoon after the team's annual media day at Target Center.

Former Gophers center John Thomas, former Timberwolves guard Jason Hart, former Michigan State guard Maurice Ager and former lottery pick DerMarr Johnson will fill out a training camp roster for a team that already has 14 players with guaranteed contracts.

Hart came to camp this time last year on a make-good contact and won the job as a third point guard. He stayed with the team for the season's first two months before the Wolves dealt his non-guaranteed contract to Phoenix for a second-round pick and Alando Tucker.

Also, Wolves executive Jerry Sichting will join new Warriors coach Keith Smart as an assistant coach. The team's new owner reportedly is paying Don Nelson his $6 million salary for this season to retire or resign and go back to Maui so the Warriors can start anew.

Former assistant coach Dean Cooper, who was serving as a Wolves regional scout, has accepted a job as Portland player personnel director.

Both departures -- along with Fred Hoiberg's spring departure to Iowa State -- will allow David Kahn more opportunity to remake the front office as he deems. His first big move, of course, was hiring Tony Ronzone as assistant GM.
