Preview: The 9-4 Nuggets played the 0-13 New Jersey Nets at home Tuesday night; the Wolves returned home from the West Coast on Tuesday afternoon and immediately practiced at Target Center for almost 90 minutes. Entering Tuesday's game, the Nuggets were 5-0 at home and 4-4 on the road. ... The Nuggets swept last season's four-game series and have won the past nine games vs. the Wolves. ... Denver's Ty Lawson and the Wolves' Wayne Ellington were backcourt teammates on North Carolina's NCAA championship team last spring.
Players to watch: Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony already is looking like an MVP candidate. He leads the NBA in scoring with a 30.5-point average and had back-to-back double-double games in Friday's loss at the L.A. Clippers and Saturday's home victory over Chicago. He joined Alex English as the only players in franchise history who have scored 40 or more points in consecutive games, in the season's opening week.
Numbers: Anthony tied an NBA record by scoring 33 points in a quarter last December against the Wolves in Denver.
Injuries: Wolves forward Kevin Love (fractured left hand) remains out.
