Wolves week in review

Last update: November 15, 2009 - 12:08 AM

WEEK IN REVIEW

Record: 0-5

• A rare five-game week included Monday's inconceivable loss at Golden State that tied franchise records for points allowed (146) and margin of defeat (41). With their loss Saturday night at Memphis, the Wolves are 1-9, having not won since coming back from 16 behind with less than seven minutes to go against New Jersey on opening night.

STAR TRIBUNE'S STAR OF THE WEEK

Nathan Jawai, forward: There aren't many candidates when you haven't won since last month, so let's go with the big Australian who has intrigued with soft hands, bulk and quick leaping ability. Scored a career-high 16 at Portland, played career-high 25:46 against Dallas.

THIS WEEK: Two games

Wednesday: vs. Houston, 7 p.m. Saturday: at Portland, 9 p.m.

After playing five games in seven days last week, the Wolves play just twice: The Rockets, without Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady or Ron Artest, visit Target Center followed by the third game against the Blazers in 13 days.

THE QUOTE

"You don’t bring that stuff into Stearns County!" — A geographically challenged fan at Target Center after Minnesota’s own Joel Pryzbilla swatted one of his four blocked shots Wednesday. Just FYI: Monticello, Minn. — Przybilla’s hometown — is in Wright County.
