Wolves taking momentum with them to Miami
Preview: The Timberwolves bounced back from blowout losses to Indiana and Detroit by beating Oklahoma City at home on Friday, their second victory over the Thunder in six days. Now they are looking for their second two-game winning streak of the season against a Heat team that, playing without center Hassan Whiteside, lost its second consecutive game Saturday, at home to Boston. This is the start of a stretch in which the Wolves will play five of seven games on the road.
Players to watch: Wolves C Karl-Anthony Towns is coming off a 33-point, 19-rebound, four-block game vs. OKC. F Jimmy Butler returned from two games missed due to illness to score 25 vs. the Thunder. The Heat is led by G Goran Dragic, who is averaging 20.2 points per game. He averaged 26 points and 9.5 assists in two victories over the Wolves last season. F James Johnson (14.0), G Dion Waiters (13.2) and Josh Richardson (13.0) also average in double figures.
Numbers: The Wolves and Heat have split their past four games in Miami, and Minnesota has won three of its past seven games there. The Wolves have won all three games this season that have been decided by one possession.
Injuries: Wolves C Justin Patton (foot) is out. Miami C Hassan Whiteside (knee) is doubtful. G Rodney McGruder (leg) is out.
