Kings even after Cousins trade

Preview: The Kings are 1-1 since last week's blockbuster trade sent star DeMarcus Cousins to New Orleans and brought back No. 6 overall pick Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway and Tyreke Evans. They beat Denver 116-100 in their first game back after All-Star break on Thursday and lost 99-85 to Charlotte on Saturday. … This is the third game of the Kings' five-game homestand at their new arena. … The Kings have won the first two games of the four-game series between the teams: They won 106-103 at home in the season's second game and 109-105 at Target Center just before Christmas.

Players to watch: Wolves C Karl-Anthony Towns is one of four players in NBA history to reach 37 points and 22 rebounds in a game when they were 21 years or younger. He did it in Saturday's 142-130 loss at Houston, and he joins Atlanta's John Drew (40-25 in December 1974), Buffalo's Bob McAdoo (45-25 in March 1973) and Philadelphia's Rick Barry (37-25 in December 1965). … Kings F Willie Cauley-Stein had 29 points and 10 rebounds in the first game after the Cousins trade but only two points and two rebounds in the second.

Injuries: Wolves G Zach LaVine (knee surgery) is out for the season and F Adreian Payne is out indefinitely while he is being treated for thrombocytopenia. Kings F Rudy Gay (torn Achilles), G Malachi Richardson (partial hamstring tear) and G Garrett Temple (partial hamstring tear) all are out.
