Noel, Mavericks are next
Preview: The Wolves, who stood pat at Thursday's NBA trade deadline, take on a Mavericks team that made the well-received move of sending center Andrew Bogut and Justin Anderson to Philadelphia for Nerlens Noel. Both of these teams are among the half-dozen teams on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, each with 22 victories. The Wolves won three of five games going into the All-Star Game break. Dallas lost their last two games before the break. The two teams have split two games this season, each winning at home. The Wolves' win at Target Center on Jan. 9 ended a seven-game skid vs. the Mavs. The Feb. 24 loss in Dallas ended the Wolves' three-game winning streak.
Players to watch: Wolves F/G Andrew Wiggins is coming off back-to-back 40-point games, becoming the second player in franchise history to do so (Kevin Love, April 13-14 2014). He has shot 31-for-55 in those two games (56.4 percent) and hit six of 12 three-pointers. Mavericks F Dirk Nowitzki has averaged 21.5 points in two games vs. the Wolves. F Harrison Barnes is averaging a career-high (and team best) 20.1 points per game.
Injuries: Wolves F Adreian Payne (illness) is out. Dallas PG J.J. Barea (calf) is out.
