Wolves gameday

Last update: November 20, 2008 - 9:53 PM

Preview: Following nearly three weeks' worth of frustrating losses, the Timberwolves finally kept a lead and beat Philadelphia 102-96 on Wednesday. To make it two in a row, Minnesota must get by the defending NBA champion Celtics. It will be no easy task. Boston, which won big at home against Detroit on Thursday night, has started 11-2.

Players to watch: Before Thursday, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett (remember him?) were all averaging 16 points or better per game for the Celtics ... Timberwolves shooting guard Mike Miller had 10 points and 10 rebounds against the 76ers for his first double-double of the season.

Numbers: Despite the disparity in records last season, the two games between the teams -- both Boston victories -- were decided by a total of three points ... Boston is 10-8 all time at Target Center.

Injuries: Wolves guards Kevin Ollie (calf) and Rashad McCants (back spasms) are day-to-day. The Celtics are healthy.
