LAS VEGAS – Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 points and 10 rebounds, but the Timberwolves finished up NBA Las Vegas Summer League play with an 82-77 loss to Portland on Wednesday night.
Towns, the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, shot 7-for-9 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, but it wasn't enough to advance the Wolves in the Summer League tournament. They will play a consolation game on Friday.
The Wolves, playing without Tyus Jones and Zach LaVine (who were at the ESPY awards), got 14 points from Lorenzo Brown and 13 from Adreian Payne.
Noah Vonleh had 16 points for the Trail Blazers, who saw guard Allen Crabbe leave on a stretcher because of a left leg injury. X-rays were negative.
