Chicago guard Ben Gordon accepted the Bulls' one-year, $6.4 million tender offer just before the deadline Wednesday night.
A restricted free agent, Gordon was looking for a long-term deal that never materialized.
"He's very happy to be able to go back and play basketball," agent Raymond Brothers said. "He looks forward to talking to the Bulls next summer about an extension."
Gordon has been Chicago's leading scorer the past three years.

Ellis signed a new six-year, $66 million contract in July, then injured his left ankle in August in a low-speed moped crash -- an offseason activity prohibited in his new deal. Ellis will miss training camp and at least several weeks of the regular season. To give themselves some insurance in the backcourt, Golden State signed Dan Dickau on Wednesday.
• Abdur-Rahim joins Kings staff: The Sacramento Kings hired Shareef Abdur-Rahim as an assistant coach a week after the veteran forward retired before the start of what would have been his 13th NBA season.
• Oden OK: Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden was OK after rolling his right ankle during the first day of training camp.
