Preview: The Timberwolves have lost six consecutive games and 12 of 13 after Tuesday's 125-104 loss at Cleveland. They have given up 100 or more points in 11 of those 12 losses, including the past six. … With Shabazz Muhammad now in the starting lineup for the traded Corey Brewer, the Wolves (5-22) have used 11 starting lineups in their 27 games. They have won only one game more than Philadelphia, which beat them Dec. 3 at Target Center. … The Nuggets came off a quick Eastern trip 0-2, losing by 28 points at Charlotte and then getting beat 102-96 at Brooklyn on Tuesday. They have lost eight of 11 after winning eight of 10 before that. Injuries to starter Danilo Gallinari and reserve Randy Foye haven't helped. … Wolves assistant Sidney Lowe coached Nuggets forward J.J. Hickson at North Carolina State.

Numbers: The Nuggets are 8-6 at home at Denver's 5,200-foot elevation and 4-11 on the road. They beat Indiana and the Los Angeles Clippers in their past two home games after they had lost to Houston in overtime and San Antonio there before that. … The two teams split last season's four games, with each team winning once on the other's floor. They play just three times this season, Jan. 17 at Denver again and March 4 at Target Center.

Injuries: Wolves G Ricky Rubio (sprained ankle), C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and G Kevin Martin (wrist surgery) are all out. Denver G Ty Lawson has battled a tight lower back, but played — and produced — just fine Tuesday in Brooklyn. F Darrell Arthur has missed the past four games because of a lower leg strain. C JaVale McGee is out with one, too. Gallinari (torn knee meniscus) and Foye (thigh strain) are listed as out as well.
