Preview: Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin underwent surgery on his right shooting wrist Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks, the team announced. He had a screw inserted into the hand he broke a week ago early in a game against New York. … After a 7-5 season start that included a triple-overtime victory at Brooklyn and a three-game winning streak, the Bucks, playing for new coach Jason Kidd, beat Detroit 98-86 at home Tuesday to end a two-game losing streak and put their record at 8-7. … The Wolves swept the last two season series, winning 117-95 at Milwaukee in December and 112-101 at Target Center in March. Kevin Love scored 33 points in that first game, 27 in the second.

Players to watch: The Wolves last month became the first team since the Atlanta Hawks in 2005 to start two teenagers in a regular-season NBA game. The Hawks started Josh Smith and Marvin Williams then, the Wolves did so nine years later when Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine started a game at Miami. The Bucks then started Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker. … The Bucks — ranked second in the NBA in steals per game with 9.4 — recorded 11 steals vs. Washington on Saturday. It was their ninth game this season with 10-plus thefts, most by any NBA team. They had nine steals Tuesday against the Pistons.

Injuries: Wolves G Mo Williams on Tuesday missed his second consecutive practice because he was ill. If he can't play, the Wolves' only remaining point guard is rookie Zach LaVine. G Ricky Rubio (sprained ankle) and Martin are out, C Nikola Pekovic (ankle, sprained wrist) and C/F Ronny Turiaf (hip) are listed as doubtful. Bucks G Nate Wolters (illness) didn't play Tuesday, but G Brandon Knight (calf) did. F Damien Inglis (ankle surgery) and C Johnny O'Bryant (knee strain) are listed as out.
