LaVine scores 22 as Wolves beat Pelicans in Summer League finale

  • Updated: July 18, 2014 - 11:57 PM

Zach LaVine scored 22 points, fellow draft pick Glenn Robinson III added 17 and the Timberwolves closed their stint in the Las Vegas Summer League with a 97-78 victory over New Orleans on Friday night.

LaVine, the first-round pick out of UCLA, averaged 15.7 points in six games. The Wolves went 2-4.

Former Baylor guard Brady Heslip made three three-pointers and scored 15 points for the Wolves, who did not play Alexei Shved or Shabazz Muhammad.

• Amid rumors they might be dealt to the Wolves for Kevin Love, Cleveland did not play either Andrew Wiggins or Anthony Bennett in its summer league finale.

Saints top Laredo

Joe Bonfe and Keith Brachold each hit two-run singles and the St. Paul Saints defeated Laredo 6-3 before an announced 5,116 at Midway Stadium.
