$845 million: Chicago Cubs, purchased by Ricketts family from Tribune Co. in 2009.

$800 million: San Diego Padres, purchased by Ron Fowler, Seidler and O’Malley families from John Moores in 2012.

$800 million: Washington Redskins, purchased by Dan Snyder from family of the late Jack Kent Cooke in 1999.

$770 million: Jacksonville Jaguars, purchased by Shahid Khan from Wayne Weaver in 2011.
