LAS VEGAS — Kevin Love was held out of the Minnesota Timberwolves' summer league game Sunday afternoon against the New York Knicks for precautionary reasons with an inflamed left Achilles.
He left in the second half of Minnesota's game Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks with the same injury, which team official don't consider severe.
Love was expected to practice later Sunday with U.S. national team at a local high school. He was added to the select team Saturday as an extra body for practice in preparation for the Olympics.
Love, the fifth overall selection in last month's draft, averaged a league-best 13.5 rebounds in four summer contests. He added 18 points per game.
His top performance was Friday against Portland when he had 26 points and 15 rebounds in an 88-78 victory against the Trail Blazers.
