The Wolves and Celtics have just tipped off here in Montreal.

It's the start of the Wolves' final three preseason games in the next five days and a Sunday night during which Rick Adelman will continue to search for answers at small forward.

Right now, he sounds like a confused man.

He started Derrick Williams at that spot tonight and said he might start somebody else there Wednesday in Philadelphia and perhaps somebody else again on Thursday in Detroit.

That list of somebodies includes Othyus Jeffers, Robbie Hummel and Shabazz Muhammad.

"I've got to play people, especially at the 3 spot and figure out where we're going in that direction," Adelman said. "I just have to talk these three games and we'll continue to talk about it and judge it."

Adelman continues to make it clear the Wolves are in the market and looking elsewhere for a small forward as well, even though Chase Budinger will play that spot when he returns from a second surgery on his left knee.

"With Chase, I never felt like you could say he'll be back in January," Adelman said. "You just have to deal with the situation right now. Whenever he does come back is just a plus for us. If someone tells me he'll be back in December, but that nobody knows. We have to figure out what we're going to do right now and who's the best to start. I don't know, maybe having Corey come off the bench is a good thing.

"I don't know. We're just trying to figure it out."
