On the NBA trade deadline front ... who knows?

The NBA's annual trading deadline passes at 2 p.m. Thursday, and Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said Wednesday night that he doesn't expect his team to be active.

But ...

"I don't think so, but who knows?" he said. "Sounds like everything's quiet right now."

The Wolves likely would trade veteran guard Luke Ridnour, former No. 2 pick overall Derrick Williams, Brandon Roy's $5 million salary slot and/or future first-round picks if they can get a legitimately sized shooting guard or an attractively priced starting center. Among the many rumors: Yahoo!Sports report said Denver had turned down the Wolves offer of Roy and a first-round pick for center Timofey Mozgov, and ESPN reported the Wolves have discussed a Williams-Paul Millsap swap with Utah even though Millsap will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

"If it makes sense," Adelman said of his team's need to make a deal. "If there's nothing out there that makes sense, we have a group that can win games. We have to go out and play like that."

Wolves forward Andrei Kirilenko and guard J.J. Barea said they were sensing no stress about the upcoming deadline. Kirilenko said he has been traded "50 times" in media reports during his 11-year career, even if he's never actually been dealt.

"I'm used to being in rumors," Barea said. "For this team, I don't think it's a really stressful time. I think what we've got here is what we're going to be for the rest of the season, so we just have to stay ready."

Ridnour declined interview requests Wednesday with the deadline little more than 24 hours away.

A.K. returns

Kirilenko returned to the starting lineup after five games away because of a strained right quad. He needed just eight seconds to score, even if he predicted before the game that it'll take a couple games for him to get back into top form. "I miss 10, 14 days, it takes you off the game a little bit, but what can you do?" he said. "Right now, I feel great."

Barea's better

Barea returned from four days back home in Puerto Rico and declared the warm-sand therapy he received on his sprained foot while there a big success. "It was awesome, man," he said. "Great time, great weather. I feel great. My foot's a lot better, ready to go."

Philadelphia coach Doug Collins got a laugh out of Wolves center Nikola Pekovic before the game when he asked the big guy why Pek didn't invite him on his All-Star break ice-fishing trip to Lake Mille Lacs.

"I wanted to go with Pekovic ice fishing, drink a couple beers," Collins told reporters before the game. "But he didn't invite me, so I had to go to Arizona instead. I'm disappointed he didn't call me. I was waiting for the invite, but he never called. I'll have to wait until I retire, I guess."

• If the Wolves don't include Roy's $5 million salary slot in a deal, expect the two sides to reach a resolution about his contract and retirement. Either way, it's unlikely he plays again. "If he does play, it'll be a pleasant surprise," Adelman said. "I don't expect it at this point."

• Rookie Alexey Shved spent two days in Las Vegas celebrating Kirilenko's birthday after Shved played in Friday's All-Star Rising Stars Challenge. Did he win big?

"No, I'm not a player," he said.

• Lynx star Lindsay Whalen, back from playing in Turkey after her team stopped paying her, attended the game.
