Preview: Wolves at Memphis

  • Updated: February 9, 2013 - 7:21 PM

Preview: The Grizzlies still are trying to find a rhythm after the team remade its roster with two trades. The first came on Jan. 22 when Marresse Speights, Wayne Ellington, Josh Selby and a future first-round draft pick were sent to Cleveland for Jon Leuer. On Jan. 30 Memphis was part of a multi-team trade in which Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi left Memphis with the Grizzlies getting Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye. Friday the Grizzlies beat Golden State, ending a two-game losing streak.

Players to watch: Wolves G Ricky Rubio has averaged 14 points and 12 assists in his past three games. G Luke Ridnour had 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting. Memphis C Marc Gasol and F Zach Randolph each had double-doubles vs. Golden State on Friday. G Mike Conley has averaged 12 points and six assists in 18 career games vs. Minnesota.

Numbers: Memphis has won eight consecutive against the Wolves, and six in a row in Memphis, where Minnesota hasn't won since Jan. 6, 2009.

Injuries: Wolves F Kevin Love (hand surgery), F Chase Budinger (knee surgery), G Malcolm Lee (hip and knee surgery), G Brandon Roy (right knee) and F Andrei Kirilenko (quadriceps) are out. G J.J. Barea (foot sprain) is probable. Memphis F/G Quincy Pondexter (knee) is out.
