Preview: The Knicks are another team within reach of the Timberwolves record-wise, and falling fast. Despite losing Friday at Indiana, the Wolves are 5-5 in their past 10 games, while the Knicks are 1-9 after losing at home to Memphis. This is the second and final game between the two teams; the Knicks won 97-93 in New York on Nov. 4.
Players to watch: Knicks guard Jamal Crawford is averaging 20.4 points and 40.7 minutes per game. He has scored at least 20 points in 14 of 19 games, including a team-high 22 Friday. Wolves forward Ryan Gomes is averaging 17.0 points per game in his past eight games.
Numbers: The Wolves are 10-3 in their past 13 games vs. New York, winning the past three games at Target Center. Five Wolves players were averaging double figures while winning five of the seven entering Friday. New York is 5-12 on the second game of back-to-backs this season; the Wolves are 2-14.
Injuries: Wolves G Sebastian Telfair (ankle) is out. For New York, C Eddy Curry (knee) and G Stephon Marbury (ankle) are out. F/G Quentin Richardson (wrist) and F/C Jerome James (knee) were questionable Friday, and neither played.
