Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.
The Wolves today announced their preseason schedule, some of which was already known.
They will play two Target Center games -- Oct. 13 against Chicago and Oct. 16 against Maccabi Bazan Haifa from Israel -- and will take their act on the road to such far-flung places as Winnipeg, Green Bay and Fargo.
They open Oct. 10 against the Pacers in Fargo.
Here's the complete schedule:
Oct. 10 vs. Indiana at Fargo, N.D., 7 p.m.
Oct. 12 at Indiana, 7 p.m.
Oct. 13 vs. Chicago at Target Center, 7 p.m.
Oct. 16 vs. Maccabi Bazan Haifa at Target Center, 7 p.m.
Oct. 19 at Chicago, 7 p.m.
Oct. 24 vs. Detroit at Winnipeg, 7 p.m.
Oct. 26 vs. Milwaukee at Green Bay, Wis., 7 p.m.
Individual tickets go on sale Thursday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. at timberwolves.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX or by visiting the Target Center box office.
