Wolves fall to Charlotte

Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman wants Derrick Williams and Wes Johnson to dominate and not just get in a good sweat during summer-league play in Las Vegas. On Tuesday night, Johnson scored 24 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, but he missed a forced three-pointer that would have tied the score with three seconds left in the Wolves' 81-78 loss to Charlotte.
Johnson shot 9-for-17 while Williams had 17 points and seven rebounds, shooting 5-for-13. Former second-round pick Paulo Prestes, a 6-10 center who has been playing in Spain, also was productive (10 points, seven rebounds) for the second night in a row, although Charlotte center Byron Mullens scored 33 points in that matchup at the other end.
