Preview: The Celtics have won three of five games since Kevin Garnett injured his abdomen late in that comeback victory over the Wolves two weeks ago. Guard Rajon Rondo scored a career-high 24 points in Wednesday's home victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. That game featured Garnett's former Wolves teammate Sam Cassell, who is rumored to be headed toward a contract buyout so he can rejoin his friend in Boston...Garnett is the first Celtic elected to be an All-Star Game starter since Larry Bird in 1992. Bird did not play in that game because of an injury and there's a chance Garnett, too, will miss next weekend's game.
Player to watch: Wolves guard Sebastian Telfair is coming off a 12-assist, three-steal, no-turnover performance in Monday's home loss to Houston and facing Celtics guard Rondo, who exploited ol' Sam Cassell on Wednesday. Telfair's assists and steals against the Rockets were season highs and his 12 assists were the most by a Timberwolf since Anthony Carter had 13 against Milwaukee on March 4, 2005.
Injuries: Wolves C Theo Ratliff returned to contact practice Thursday for the first time since injuring his knee in mid-November. Celtics forward Scot Pollard (ankle) is day-to-day.
