Finally out of bed and back on his feet into the light, Timberwolves forward Kevin Love stopped by Tuesday's game against Memphis and said he will begin NBA-mandated testing Wednesday with the hope he can prove he is concussion-free in time to play the season's final two games.

Love suffered what the team called a mild concussion and strained neck during last Wednesday's loss at Denver.

He said he spent the next five says sleeping and staying off his feet in darkened rooms. He didn't use his phone and stayed off his computer, too.

"Today is the first day I didn't feel disoriented," he said.

He also barely has watched television, although he did try Monday night when he turned the Wolves game on halftime and saw they trailed 64-30.

"I immediately turned it off," he said.

Love said he expects to pass a series of advancing tests he must pass to prove he is symptom-free and said he wants to play Sunday against Golden State and April 26 against Denver.

He also said he is aware there's no need to push matter given the nature of his injury.

Love said he banged his head in Madrid while playing for the U.S. World Championship team in 2010.

"But I've never really had a head injury before," he said. "It's different."

Still no Ridnour, too

Injured Wolves guard Luke Ridnour walked around the team's training room and received treatment before Tuesday's 91-84 loss to Memphis, but coach Rick Adelman doesn't think Ridnour will be able to play until the season's final two games, starting Sunday against Golden State, if he plays at all again this season.

"If they're ready to go, if they think they can play, if they get the OK, I'd like to see them play again," Adelman said of both Ridnour and Love. "That depends on a lot of ifs out there. So I really don't know."

Etc.

• Adelman said Wolves center Nikola Pekovic experienced pain in his ankle again during Monday's game at Indiana and said there's a chance the team will shut him down for the season if the pain persists. Pekovic will undergo surgery to remove bone spurs on his ankle after the season. "He's a pretty tough guy," Adelman said. "If it's really bothering him, it doesn't make any sense to play him."

• Adelman started Anthony Randolph for the second consecutive game. As he did Monday against Pacers forward David West, Randolph got torched early defensively by Grizzlies forward Marreese Speights. "We say it all the time," Adelman said. "That's what you have to learn. You've got to know who you're playing against."

• Memphis center Marc Gasol started and played Tuesday despite a bone bruise on his knee.
