LOOKING FOR A GUARD? TRY UCLA

UCLA PRODUCES NBA-READY GUARDS. HERE'S A LOOK AT FIVE WHO WERE FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICKS IN FIVE CONSECUTIVE SUMMERS:

Player Draft selection Team

Jordan Farmar 26th overall in 2005 L.A. Lakers

Comment: Role player won two NBA titles in L.A. before he signed three-year, $12 million free-agent deal with New Jersey in 2010.

Arron Afflalo 27th overall in 2007 Detroit

Comment: Born at UCLA Medical Center, first player Ben Howland recruited there and now has a four-year, $43 million contract extension with Denver

Russell Westbrook 4th overall in 2008 Oklahoma City

Comment: OK, so he's temperamental and sometimes shoots too much. He also along with Derrick Rose has completely redefined the point-guard position with his unique combination of size and athleticism.

Jrue Holiday 17th overall in 2009 Philadelphia

Comment: The youngest player in his draft, he's still only 21 and already a fixture as the starting point guard for a Sixers team on the rise.

Darren Collison 21st overall in 2009 New Orleans

Comment: Somewhat overlooked by scouts because he played all four college seasons, he started Indiana's first 56 games this season before a sore groin sidelined him the past four games before Monday's meeting with the Wolves.
