Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.

One more goes down: Ridnour injured in 116-108 loss at Sacramento

OK, so who's left to play point guard?

Rick Adelman? Terry Porter? Shawn Respert?

It's getting almost desperate now that Luke Ridnour has joined the list of wounded.

The Wolves' savior at point guard after Ricky Rubio went down, Ridnour went down himself late in the third quarter when he came down on someone's foot, turned it noticeably and left the game with a sprained right ankle.

He spent the fourth quarter and a good while after the game in the trainer's room before limping from the arena.

The extent of the sprain wasn't immediately known, but I'll bet he doesn't play Wednesday's home game against Golden State and after that, well, who knows?

His injury left the Wolves with only rookie Malcolm Lee at the point for the entire fourth quarter, which is when the Kings took a one-point lead after three quarters and turned it into 12 by scoring the first 11 points of the fourth quarter.

"I don't have anybody else, unless J.J. comes back," Adelman said. "We'll just have to address it when we get back."

It also seems to push the Wolves focus from that final playoff spot in the West to just hoping to hold things together here in April, a month that hasn't been kind to the Wolves the last two years.

The Wolves haven't won a game in April since 2009.

Asked if he has any healing water to take to Barea, who has been out six games now with that thigh bruise, in time for Wednesday's game, Adelman said, "I hope so. I hope he's all right. We'll find out when we get there. It's something we didn't need."

Here's the game story from Monday night detailing Brad Miller's start at center back in Sacramento and Nikola Pekovic's return after nearly two weeks away.

And there should be some postgame video tacked up on the blog by morning.

That's all from Sacramento here on Monday night.

The Wolves fly home Tuesday morning and play Golden State Wednesday.

I'll check back with you then, or perhaps on Tuesday if there's an update on Ridnour.
