Not only did he score on a putback of Ray Allen's missed drive with 16.6 seconds left, but the young Celtics center finished with a game-high 21 points. Perkins also had three blocked shots.

THE STATS

10 Points for Boston's Kevin Garnett in his first regular-season game against his former team. Garnett, who left the game for four minutes because of an abdominal strain, also pulled down 16 rebounds.

55 Total points for the four former Celtics players sent to the Wolves in the Garnett trade who played Friday. Sebastian Telfair had 18 points, Al Jefferson 15, Ryan Gomes 13 and Gerald Green nine.
