Wolves-Oklahoma City game preview

  • Updated: March 23, 2012 - 1:09 AM

Preview: The 35-12 Thunder -- best in the West -- is coming off Wednesday's 114-91 home victory over the Clippers and is 4-4 in its past eight games. ... The Thunder has won the past 10 games between the two teams, its longest winning streak against one franchise since it was the Seattle SuperSonics and it beat Golden State 14 in a row from 1999 to 2003. ... Oklahoma City is 20-4 at home, third behind only Miami's 20-2 and Lakers' 19-3. ... The teams haven't met since opening night Dec. 26, when the Thunder prevailed 104-100 at Target Center.

Players to watch: Thunder MVP candidate Kevin Durant's 32 points against the Clippers on Wednesday was his first 30-point game in the past eight. His team is 14-4 this season when he scores 30. ... The Thunder on Wednesday signed former Lakers G Derek Fisher, who was traded to Houston last week and bought out. He went right out and played 19 minutes and had five points, an assist and a rebound against the Clippers. He is wearing jersey No. 37 -- a playful nod to his age.

Injuries: Wolves C Nikola Pekovic is back in the Twin Cities rehabbing his ankles. F Michael Beasley (sprained big toe) said after Wednesday's game that he needs to take time off to heal his swollen foot and likely won't play. G Ricky Rubio underwent surgery Wednesday to repair ACL and LCL knee ligaments and is out for the season. Thunder Gs Eric Maynor (torn ACL) and Daequan Cook (MCL sprain) are both out.
