Wolves-Phoenix game preview

The Wolves complete their second and final set of three games-in-three nights Thursday in Phoenix, and they do so against a Suns team that hasn't played since losing a week ago Wednesday.

Preview: The Wolves complete their second and final set of three games in three nights Thursday in Phoenix and they do so against a Suns team that hasn't played since losing to Golden State at home a week ago Wednesday. ... The Suns have won two of their past three but had lost five of seven -- and are 14-20 and in fourth place in the Pacific . ...This is the first meeting between the teams this year. The last time they played, the Suns won 135-127 in overtime in Phoenix late last season.

Players to watch: Steve Nash made his eighth career All-Star appearance last weekend and his franchise-tying sixth appearance with the Suns. Walter Davis also played in six All-Star Games for the Suns. He is leading the league in assists with a 10.9 average and is on pace to lead for the sixth time in his career. Only Utah's John Stockton has done it more (9). He ranks seventh in the league in field-goal percentage (.542) and first among all guards AND forwards. No point guard has shot better than 55 percent since Stockton did so in 1988. ... Suns center Marcin Gortat is averaging career high of 15.9 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.56 blocks and is one of three NBA players averaging 15 rebounds, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

Injuries: F Kevin Love sustained bruised ribs Tuesday against the Clippers but played Wednesday night against the Lakers in Los Angeles.
