Lee has knee surgery, could be out six weeks

Timberwolves rookie guard Malcolm Lee underwent surgery today to repair a torn meniscus ligament in his left knee.
The team says recovery time for such a surgery usually is about six weeks, although it often estimates on the conservative side.
The Wolves signed Lee -- a second-round pick from UCLA -- to a guaranteed three-year contract earlier this month. That's fairly rare to guarantee all three years for a second-round pick, but the Wolves are high on a combo guard from a school that's produced a slew of NBA-ready guards in recent years.
Lee's injury is the same knee on which he had surgery after the college season last March. He apparently injured it again sometime late in the preseason.
The team in a media release termed it "successful" surgery to repair the tear.
