Preview: The Hornets entered their game at Memphis on Friday night tied with San Antonio atop the Western Conference's Southwest Division. And they're playing like it, taking a 7-2 record into Memphis that included six victories of 10 points or more. Guard Chris Paul leads a starting lineup all averaging in double figures in scoring. The Wolves were 1-3 vs. the Hornets last year and have won just twice in the last seven meetings.
Player to watch: It all starts with Chris Paul, the quick point guard who seemingly always gives the Wolves problems. He led the Hornets in scoring in all four games vs. the Wolves last season, averaging 23.8 points per game.
Numbers: The Hornets, led by Peja Stojakovic and Morris Peterson, led the NBA in three-point shooting percentage (45.8 percent entering Friday's game). They are also second in the league in scoring differential (plus-8.9). The Wolves were 6-13 on the tail end of back-to-backs last season.
Injuries: For the Wolves, G Randy Foye (knee) is out. New Orleans reports no injuries.
